Zuendapp) was a major German motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1917 in Nuremberg by Fritz Neumeyer, together with the Friedrich Krupp AG and the machine tool manufacturer Thiel under the name "Zünder- und Apparatebau G.m.b.H." as a producer of detonators (Zünder- und Apparatebau is German for Igniter and Apparatus). The new Zündapp range was an enormous success, and in September 1933 the firm produced its 100,000th machine, quite an achievement after little more than a decade as a motorcycle manufacturer. This 1940 Zündapp KS600 is a very good example of a motorcycle with lots of original parts and a fine example of a KS600 with correct parts. The motorcycle has some surface rust on the nuts and bolt heads throughout the bike. This can easily be cleaned up. Back in 2011 the entire motorcycle was restored by us here at Vintage German Motorcycles.
